On Saturday, August 24th, at 11:00 AM, Auctions United and Wilson Realty will be selling The Marquita Johnson-Bailey Estate. This is a Court Ordered Sale, ordered by the Probate Court of DeKalb County, Alabama. The property consists of 19.1 acres in two tracts, a two-story 4 bedroom, 3 ½ bath brick home with pool and full basement, a four-stall horse barn, a 2020 Infinity luxury automobile, and a huge wedding/event building complete with commercial kitchen dressing rooms and equipment.

For a number of years Marquita Johnson-Bailey ran the “Steel Magnolia Farm Wedding and Event Venue.” The business was the home to many wonderful weddings and events in Northeast Alabama. Auctions United and Wilson Realty will be liquidating all of the Real Estate, Personal Property, Furnishings, and equipment belonging to the estate.

Tract 1 is 8.3 acres of mostly fenced pasture and features a large pond and road frontage on Michael Road.

Tract 2 is 10.8 fenced acres and features a long paved driveway leading to the residence and wedding venue building.

As you tour the residence know that all of the furnishings you see have been divided into lots and will also be sold at auction separately. The residence is beautifully decorated throughout. It has a three-car garage leading to a laundry room and eat-in kitchen with wood cabinets. There is a half bath… a formal living room…formal dining room… Master bedroom with huge master bath with tub and shower …and a large entry foyer with beautiful staircase, all on the first floor.

Upstairs are three bedrooms… one with private bath… and two that share a Jack and Jill bath… Also at the top of the stairs is a large sitting area.

The main part of the building can accommodate several hundred wedding guests.

All of the house furnishing and wedding equipment will be sold in lots. This includes tables, chair, barstools, glassware, cooking utensils, decorations, and more! Nearly 300 separate items including a 2020 Infinity QX60 automobile with 44,000 miles on the odometer, and a multi-passenger golf cart used to ferry guests from the parking area.

The real estate will be offered in tracts and as a whole. The personal property and equipment will be sold in lots.

All items will be sold at auction and all sales are final. Removal of purchased items is the responsibility of the buyer and should be removed from the property the day of the sale.

To get to the property, from the intersection of County Road 27 and Highway 75 in Sylvania (Sylvania Crossroad), take County Road 27 west toward Sylvania School. Go 0.8 miles and turn right on Michael Road, Go 0.3 miles and the driveway is on the left.

On the real estate, a 10% Buyer’s Premium will be added to the final bid and due the day of the sale. The balance is due at closing within 30 days after final court approval.
On the personal property and equipment, a 10% buyer’s premium will be added to the final bid. The total amount will be due the day of the sale. We do not take credit cards. Cash or personal check gladly accepted.
